Do you know how you put words together? Are your words a collection of your thoughts structured into a piece of writing or, fragments were thrown together simply as a means to communicate?

Not everyone is a writer, though everyone has the ability to refine their words to cater for the target audience.

Part of being an awakened mind with objective thinking is how you can express yourself correctly and effectively.

Often people are not aware of how they write and the effect of their writing on others; have they been offensive in some way with their wording, is what they are writing or have written clear and concise?

In almost all cases vocabulary and word choice vary from person to person, some readers may feel threatened and intimidated by how you write and the words you use to convey your thoughts and meaning.

In the earlier stages of a transitional writing journey, you can get lost amidst the perceptions of others. The key is knowing yourself well enough and the correct target audience you are aiming at; don't lower yourself too much to appease people with smaller vocabulary commands, that's their journey.

Once you have reached this point, the next step is observing how others respond over a period of time. Make note of those people as they are an important part of your journey and you may need them for feedback later.

You are the only one who can set the period of review and reflection, whether it be 6 months or a year does not matter; shaping how you write to a more refined level takes time and energy.

Remember, you tweak your wording and structure in accordance with the feedback and also what feels right for you.

Then, at the end of your review period, you look back at all your writings and compare them. What you will see is that you write differently depending on your mood.

In my personal experiences I expanded upon those mood type writings and made a conscious note that I applied to all my writings after "is it cruel, is it kind?".

Though, if you are lost in that mind frame, sometimes going away and coming back later with a clearer mind will help you write better with clarity.

This journey is not always easy and you need to be open-minded, ready to accept criticism and then process it. Though, over time it can be rewarding to see how well you have transitioned to better express yourself to others in the world.
