Learning to Observe and Listen First!

It's not an easy skill to master, and it's not something that can transcend all moods and feelings either. But why you must be wondering...

Firstly, you have to be ready to listen to whatever is being said in general conversations, or said about you and remain silent; you wait and stay silent so you can see more of the details without jumping in right away to interject with your personal views.

As you see more, you can build a better response and reframe the narrative the right way with facts rather than opinions; you take the points of all sides and weigh them with those facts.

Secondly, the reason why this skill does not transcend all moods and feelings is that different minds states may affect your own ability to see logic and reason, depending on the type of mood a person is in and what they are feeling.

A prime example of this is when you are angry. In many cases a person may react to specific wording within a piece of writing and interject right away; nobody can hold that skill when in this mind state.

A similar thing happens when you are tired as well, though a person's mind will apply broken logic to juxtaposition themselves as the one who champions their view over others.

When your mind state stabilises, it is then that you can try to correct your mistake; or you just accept it and move on.

Though, what you can do instead is train your own mind to take a step back! Just walk away until your moods and feelings are more stable and then apply this skill. It's not easy, but you can override impulses and consciously tell yourself that you will not fall to broken logic or failed reasoning.

Good luck on your journey.
