So, I wanted to navigate away from some of the more serious posts and jump into something more lighthearted for a bit of fun!
Now, I did not start drinking hot drinks until my late 20s! Wow, that's crazy right!
Well, I was always overactive and generated my own body heat as I was always moving around. Though, as I got older, I could not regulate my own body temperature, so I started drinking hot lemon and hot chocolate.
However, I was yet to discover COFFEE!
When I did discover coffee, wow what had I been missing all this time... Of course, that was not all. I also love cake and so it became the perfect companion; coffee and cake together in perfect harmony, the best match ever...
Actually no, as apparently there are some people who hate coffee and prefer some cake and biscuits with their tea! Really? Are they serious?
It turns out that they really are serious. So we have entered into this debate over tea and cakes, or coffee and cakes. For me, it's a clear choice, but for others, it's the other.
There are, of course, those who prefer something else like a hot chocolate rather than tea or coffee to go with their cakes; that makes some degree of sense, but not tea?
Sure, there are some biscuity type cakes that marry well with tea along with actual biscuits. But, a Victoria sponge, a chocolate cake and the like, absolutely not. Anybody marrying such cakes with tea is a little weird, to be honest. Just have the cake without the tea, it does not need to be ruined with tea!
I like green tea, don't get me wrong. But, I don't have anything with it, it's just a means to detox and cleanse; especially after decaff coffee in the mornings.
Also, biscuits should only be dipped in coffee, that's just my opinion. Light biscuits maybe in some milky tea, but beyond that absolutely not!
Where do you stand: Coffee and Cake or... Tea and Cake?
